Retreat Registration Check-In: Hotel 3rd level just one floor above the lobby
Wednesday 4:00 – 9:00 PM; Daily Thursday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Mini Classes will be sold up to 24 hours before the class based on class openings. You may sell or give away your previously purchased Mini Class if you are unable to attend but you must tell us who will take your spot.
Regular class registration is closed and cannot be purchased, changed, or exchanged at the retreat. Class attendance lists are now set and there can be no additions or replacements in any regular class.
Door Prize Drawings will be made from all class attendees on Thursday and names of winners will be on a chart near the Registration Table. If you do not pick up your prize, it will be mailed to you.

Yarn and Fiber Marketplace – In the Pavilion: Market Hours: Thursday – Saturday 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM. Sunday 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Go out the double doors on the 4th floor of the hotel and across the courtyard. OUR GIFT TO ALL CLASS ATTENDEES IS A $5 OFF MARKET COUPON IN THEIR NAME TAG HOLDER – REDEEM AT ANY MARKET VENDOR.
Demonstrations and Mentoring in the Pavilion Rotunda: Schedule is in your registration packet and posted in the Rotunda. Jared Flood and his design team will be there on Saturday; meet and talk with Brenda Dayne creator of the “Cast-On” podcast; ask yarn questions of Clara Parkes; spin with Sarah Anderson and create many different yarns; ask your publishing questions of Stephannie Tallent; and solve your two color knitting problems with Amy Detjen. Gather round with friends, explore weaving, Kumihimo braiding, spindling, and take your knitting problems to Daniel.
Teacher/Author Book Signings: Friday and Saturday from 5-6 PM in the Pavilion Rotunda. Teacher schedule for book signings is in your packet. Bring your own books from home or purchase in Market.
Location and Times for Evening Events – all are in the Hotel Venice Ballroom
- Thursday Evening Stephanie Pearl-McPhee hosts the 2nd Annual Teacher Talent Show for Charity. Doors open at 7:00 PM and program begins at 7:30 PM. A select number of teachers reveal their non-knitting talents as a fundraiser for MSF-Doctors without Borders, The Global Fund for Women and Heifer International. You know that this was the highlight of last year’s retreat and Stephanie promises this night will be just as magical and unexpected! It’s a secret! We’ll ask you to pay what you can at the door and what you thought it was worth at the end. We’ll have some incentive gifts for donors of $35 or more. We’ll also be collecting knitted items (hats, scarves and mittens) for the Caring for Kids local charity.
- Friday Evening Teachers Gallery: Doors open at 7:00 PM and program begins promptly at 7:30 PM. Meet all the teachers and see their incredible work at the Teachers’ Gallery which opens following the presentation by Donna Druchunas who will take us far north to the Arctic. We’ll be treated to a slide show and stories about the unique lace patterns of the native Alaskan lace knitters. It’s a fascinating story of the beginnings of the Oomingmak Cooperative and how Dorothy Reade was involved in an adventure of a lifetime. FREE.
- Saturday Evening Banquet Dinner: Doors open at 6:15 PM and dinner is served at 6:45 PM. Our speaker is Clara Parkes, creator of the weekly online “Knitter’s Review”, who will take us on a jaunt through the yarn and fiber world sharing her personal perspectives in a richly illustrated presentation. Admission is by ticket only. Your ticket(s) are in your Name Tag holder. You may trade or sell your dinner ticket – see white board by Registration Table in Lobby. Cash Bar Saturday Evening: No host bar in hallway outside the Ballroom from 5:30 – 7:30 pm is open to everyone.
Meals and Coffee, Tea, Water Service: Coffee, tea and water is located in the foyer just one floor above the Lobby near the Retreat Registration check-in and also in the Pavilion Rotunda. Hotel lobby bar serves Espresso till 2 PM and drinks from 4 PM on. The BITE restaurant, on the 4th floor serves all 3 meals daily and also offers a breakfast buffet. Each day there will be a sandwich and salad concession in the Pavilion from 11 AM to 2 PM. Hotel: You are responsible for all your hotel expenses. If you need a late checkout, request it at Hotel Desk.
Retreat Evaluation: Purple forms are available at the Retreat Registration Table
