Retreat Registration Check-In: Hotel 3rd level just one floor above the lobby
Wednesday 4:00 – 9:00 P.M; Daily Thursday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 P.M.

Mini Classes will be sold up to 24 hours before the class based on class openings. You may sell or give away your previously purchased Mini Class if you are unable to attend but you must tell us who will take your spot.

Regular class registration is closed and cannot be purchased, changed, or exchanged at the retreat. Class attendance lists are now set and there can be no additions or replacements in any regular class.

Door Prize Drawings will be made from all class attendees on Thursday and names of winners will be on a chart near the Registration Table. If you do not pick up your prize, it will be mailed to you.

Class Times: Daily 9:00 A.M. – 12 Noon and 1:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. Lunch Break: 12 Noon to 1:30 PM

Class/Event Locations: Check the boards in the hotel or in your packet for map of classrooms in hotel and pavilion.

Yarn and Fiber Marketplace – In the Pavilion: Market Hours: Thursday – Saturday 8:30 am – 6:00 pm. Sunday 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. Go out the double doors on the 4th floor of the hotel and across the courtyard. Our gift to all class attendees is a $5 off Market coupon in their name tag holder — redeem at any Market vendor. 

Demonstrations and Mentoring in the Pavilion Rotunda: Schedule is in your registration packet and posted in the Rotunda. Carol Milne will show you how she knits in glass and Sally Holt, creator of KnitCompanion, demonstrates this nifty app. John Whitley brings his Kudakai stand to demonstrate complex Kumihimo braiding, weave on big looms with Tracy Irwin and small Zoom Looms with John Mullarkey, learn spinning basics with Sarah Anderson and take your knitting questions to Daniel Herrera and Karen Aho. Gather round with friends to learn spindling and fiber preparation secrets, explore more Intarsia with Anne Berk, and Hats and Slippers with Mary Scott Huff.

Teacher/Author Book Signings: Friday and Saturday from 5-6 pm in the Pavilion Rotunda. Teacher schedule for book signings is in your packet. Bring your own books from home or purchase in Market.

Location and Times for Evening Events – all are in the Hotel Venice Ballroom

  1. Thursday Evening Stephanie Pearl-McPhee hosts the 4th Annual Teacher Talent Show for Charity. Doors open at 7:00 pm and program begins at 7:30. A select number of teachers reveal their non-knitting talents as a fundraiser for MSF-Doctors without Borders, The Global Fund for Women and Heifer International. You know that this evening has become a highlight of Madrona. Stephanie promises it will be magical, unexpected and full of surprises! It’s a secret! Pay what you can at the door and what you thought it was worth at the end. We’ll also collect knitted items for the Caring for Kids local charity tonight and at the retreat registration table during the remainder of the retreat.
  2. Friday Evening Teachers Gallery: Doors open at 7:00 pm and program begins promptly at 7:30 PM. Meet all the teachers and see their incredible work at the Teachers’ Gallery which opens following the presentation presentation by Carol Milne, a life long knitter and glass artist who knits in glass! Join us to learn how Carol invented this amazing process using the techniques of knitting, lost-wax casting, mold-making and kiln-casting to create her award winning knitted glass. FREE. 
  3. Saturday Evening Banquet Dinner: Doors open at 6:15 PM and dinner is served at 6:45 pm.Our speaker, Judith MacKenzie, is beloved at Madrona and an internationally known fiber artist. No one has more fiber knowledge at her fingertips than Judith. Her talk, “Crossing the Barriers of Time and Culture” reveals the intersection between the modern world of textile crafts and traditional cultures. Admission is by ticket only. Your ticket(s) are in your Name Tag holder. You may trade or sell your dinner ticket – see white board by Registration Check-in table. Cash Bar Saturday Evening: No host bar in hallway outside the Ballroom is open from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.

Meals and Coffee, Tea, Water Service: Coffee, tea and water is located in the foyer just one floor above the Lobby near the Retreat Registration check-in and also in the Pavilion Rotunda. Hotel lobby bar serves Espresso and snacks till 2pm and drinks from 4 pm on. The BITE restaurant, on the 4th floor serves all 3 meals daily. Each day there will be a sandwich and salad concession in the Pavilion from 11 am to 2 pm. See more on the front of your registration envelope. Hotel: You are responsible for all your hotel expenses. If you need a late checkout, request it at Hotel Desk.
